Director
Suzanne is a native of Montgomeryshire, and has been involved in the choral life of Mid-Wales both as a singer as well as a conductor for many years. A former pupil of Newtown High School, she sang under the directorship of Jayne Davies both in school and with the renowned Hafren Ladies Choir. This invaluable grounding cemented her love of choral music, and she has gone on to sing with Mid Wales Opera, Choral Societies in Shropshire and Cheshire and vocal ensemble both large and small.
A chance invitation to conduct a group of Ladies in her home village in 1990 saw the beginning of Suzanne’s conducting “career”, and in the intervening years she has conducted Ladies, Mixed and Male Voice choirs. While enjoying the challenge of directing experienced singers, such as are found in Quindici, she also takes great pleasure in introducing choral singing to absolute beginners, and to this end founded Côr Rhiew Bechan, a community choir where the majority of members had no experience whatsoever.
Suzanne has established a reputation for programming a diverse repertoire for Quindici, exploring not only the familiar and well loved choral “classics”, but also exposing audiences to unusual and perhaps challenging choral music.
Professionally Suzanne is a Design Consultant to the textile industry, having set up her own business in 2016.
