We will be starting the year off with a Singing Day in Tregynon on Saturday 18th February. We try to have a day at the beginning of every year to wake our voices up after a well earned break over New Year and January, and to explore some new repertoire for the coming year. This time we’ve decided to open it up to anyone who’d like to come and spend the day with us. The day is entitled “The Great British Anthem”, and will feature music by Britten, Bainton, Finzi and lots more great names of church choral music. If you’re a good sight-reader and enjoy the challenge of singing in a relatively small choir, just e mail Q on quindici.chamberchoir@yahoo.co.uk for more details and a registration form.
Looking ahead to Easter, we will be performing excerpts from Handel’s Messiah in a service of Devotion for Holy Week on Tuesday 11th April in Tregynon Church. Following the success of last year’s Tenebrae Service, we wanted to try something different this time, and what better way than the moving and so-loved passages of Handel’s setting of the Holy Week story. We will be combining readings and hymns with the music, so please, do join us for this musical service. Our thanks to the Rev. Norman Morris and the PCC of Tregynon church for their support of this service.
